This is a simple way to organize all those die-cut letters! My aunt who taught kindergarten for 30 years gave me this bin. She came up with the idea. All you need is a small plastic tub and some pieces of poster board or index cards. Label each card with one letter of the alphabet and store your letters in alphabetical order. I've also seen (on Pinterest) people do this with their calendar pieces using a recipe box and index cards labeled with the months of the year.
Do your students ever forget to write their names on their papers before turning them in? This use to drive me nuts until I came up with this simple idea! All you have to do is keep a small basket with 2-3 highlighters in it next to the paper turn-in box and tell students to highlight their name before turning in their work. My 4th graders thought it was the greatest thing to use a highlighter so they loved this and it helped to cut down on missing names.
This one is for all my TpT seller friends! It can be such a pain to keep track of all the fonts used in a product. I would usually keep a running record of credits on a slide at the end of my product and would try to remember to write down an artist's name when I used their font. However, there were many times I had to go back through the product to double check and would inevitable find some that I missed.
That was until I accidentally stumbled across a list of all the fonts used in my product in PPT! What?! Yay! Here's how you find it. While in your product's PPT (or Word doc.) go to "file" and select "properties" and click on "content" and voila! A list of all the fonts used in your product! Now if I could just get it to keep track of all the clipart I used :)
Teach math first thing in the morning when students are more alert and better able to think critically and problem solve. This goes for elementary teachers. Middle school and high school teachers may want to teach math a little later in the day as sleep cycles change in adolescence making them more groggy in the mornings according to this study done on the impact of starting school later for MS and HS students.
Student alertness is also very closely associated with the amount of sleep they get at night. According to the National Sleep Foundation preschoolers (ages 3-5) should get 11-13 hours of sleep at night and school-aged children (ages 5-12) should get 10-11 hours of sleep a night. You may want to let your parents know these suggestions so they can make sure their children are getting enough sleep at night in order to get the most out of their time at school!
What's the best way to crack an egg? I used to use a fork or crack it on the side of a bowl or the frying pan but I would ALWAYS end up with egg shells in my food! It wasn't until a few years ago when I was watching a YouTube video on how to make an omelet (my hubby likes his omelets a certain way :) that I discovered the trick. It is so easy and it works perfectly! All you have to do it hit two eggs together or hit one egg on the counter (if it is the last one you are adding). I don't know why I never thought of this but since learning it I have greatly reduced the amount on crunchy eggs we consume, haha! Try it for yourself!
